Secure technology, photo IDs, proof of residence, clean voter rolls, registration validations, only carefully verified absentee ballots [no mail-in ballots], proper chain of custody, transparency to citizens and, importantly, the hand marked paper ballots necessary for audits - all these must be in place for an uncontaminated vote count. In addition, we must protect election integrity and vulnerable voters from political work-arounds such as canvassing, vote harvesting and phony get-out-the-vote programs.
